What Materials Are Carports and Shade Sheds Made Of?

Carports and shade sheds are very simple structures and can be manufactured using a variety of materials. From skillion flat roof carports to gable high roof shade sheds, each style of carport varies and the materials used for shade shed styles will differ.
Some manufacturers will use timber and bricks, while others use light weight aluminum or even plastic. But the most durable and best material to use for constructing shade sheds is steel.
Our shade sheds use only one material - heavy duty steel, all over. The roof is also steel. This ensures that your shade shed is strong, robust and durable to withstand the harsh Australian weather elements and protect your vehicles.
The steel sections of carports and shed sheds can also be in three different shapes (RHS, SHS and CHS). Essentially, all steel sections (S) are hollow (H) with the first variable denoting their shape (Rectangular, Square and Circular). All steel sections and shapes are used for a variety of purposes in the construction, fabrication and building industries. Most shade sheds are built using SHS and RHS steel shapes.
The steel thickness of carports and shade sheds is also another element with ours being very thick (between 1.8mm to 2.3mm) further reinforcing the structure ensuring that it is rigid and strong.
Our DIY highly engineered shade sheds have thick steel frames and steel roofing, which can be easily assembled by two people in a few hours.
