What are Gable Roofs?

A gable roof is a type of roof that has two sloping sides that meet at a ridge. The sides are typically symmetrical and have the same pitch. Gable roofs are one of the most common types of roofs in the world and are found on a variety of buildings, from residential homes to commercial buildings.  It is no surprise that high quality shade sheds and carports use the gable roof design.

Gable roof shade sheds are better than other types of shade sheds for several reasons:

Increased headroom and height: The gable roof design provides more headroom than other types of shade sheds (especially flat roof styles - referred to as skillion), making it more comfortable to work and move around inside.  Especially if you have tall vehicles such as caravans, motorhomes, boats and trucks, the gable roof design provides more height for your vehicles.

Better ventilation:
The gable roof design allows for better ventilation, which helps to keep the shade shed cool and comfortable.  This reduces the heat inside parked vehicles but also helps with cattle, horses and livestock ensuring they are shielded from the weather elements whilst also providing ventilation.

More natural light:
The gable roof design allows more natural light to enter the shade shed, making it brighter and more pleasant to work in. If you have machinery under the shade shed or are working on your vehicle, the shade shed is not enclosed, allowing for ample light.

More durable:
The gable roof design is more durable than other types of shade sheds, as it is better able to withstand high winds and other weather conditions.  This is why most homes and commercial buildings utilise a pitched roof, known as the gable style.

Ease of Installation
:
The gable roof shade shed design is easier to install.  The steel roof sheeting is attached to the steel shade shed framework, allowing for a cleaner aesthetic and a more attractive design.
